CSA Newsletter: Week 2, Session 1

The weather for Tuesday’s harvest was chilly, cloudy, and damp – great conditions for keeping greens (and farmers) hydrated and crisp. We are certainly grateful for their patience with the weather and they brought in a nice harvest for our second week.

What’s in the box:

  • Spinach
  • Mustard
  • Salad Mix
  • Rapini
  • Cilantro
  • Oregano
  • Green Garlic
  • Sweet Potato
  • Tatsoi OR Swiss Chard

Recipes to try this week:

This week includes extra-lush bunches of cilantro. Cilantro is also fresh coriander and is a member of the carrot family (Apiaceae). Nutritionally, it offers high levels of phytochemicals and is rich in vitamins and minerals.

Our cilantro is looking great – fresh, tender, and aromatic! The entire plant is edible, so chop it into salads, soups, and rice, or get more into it and try a new recipe.

I am aware that people either love or hate the flavor of cilantro, but I found an article about a women who became transformed into a cilantro lover!
