spring celebration.

“to be of the earth is to know
the restlessness of being a seed
the darkness of being planted
the struggle toward the light
the pain of growth into the light
the joy of bursting and bearing fruit
the love of being food for someone
the scattering of your seeds
the decay of the seasons
the mystery of death and
the miracle of birth.”
~john soos

there was a certain restlessness among us. waiting, waiting, waiting. for seeds to sprout. for warmth to arrive. for spring to make her presence known. winter lingered and we questioned the potential for growth. coolness settled and we forgot the reality of impermanence.

we closed our eyes for a mere moment, and then suddenly, life burst forth! in fullness and color and vibrance. blissful surprises for our doubtful hearts. and now, everything is overflowing. bees are dancing all around. flowers are in bloom. fields are exploding. sweet joy is among us.

these are lessons in humility. lessons in celebration. so much is beyond our control. so much requires patience. yet, plants have amazing stories to tell, when they are ready. stories of resilience and miracles and growth.

so while spring is here, we celebrate the redbuds on the trees.

knowing the beauty around us is bound to evolve. the season we dwell in will certainly change. in its own chosen timing. so we embrace what is happening, until time comes again to let go.

welcome spring. we’ve long anticipated your glorious arrival. and we celebrate whatever joy you graciously offer. welcome spring.

with spring in my step,
