Spring has sprung! Daffodills, Johnny Jump Ups, Violets and other harbingers of spring are letting us know that all the work we have put in to preparing for a bountiful early harvest will soon be paid back many times over. We at the farm welcome visitors to witness the magic that is currently under way and will continue to transform our fields as the days and weeks progress.
Tiny little peas that have spent the last 6-8 weeks hunkered down, laying in wait of warmth, will soon be 6 feet tall. All the while, as we hemed and hawed at their seemingly reluctant start, our peas were sending out deep tap roots that will allow them to soar in the next month. Just because we can’t see what’s happening doesn’t mean nothing is happening. Peas can teach us some very important and quiet lessons….wax on….
