Greetings from The Student Farm CSA,

What’s In the Box this Week?

  • Potatoes
  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Basil
  • Squash or Zucchini or Beans
  • Cucumbers_for slicing, pickling or cooking
  • Tomatoes: Cherries, saladettes
  • Edamame
  • Amaranth, Red & Green

In the past Session 4 CSA Newsletters we have “talked” about cooking cucumbers, using squash &/or zucchini in dessert recipes, or freezing it in portions to use for bread when you are ready to turn on the oven and heat up the kitchen and we have given you the low down on Edamame, and Amaranth.

The “season” is starting to change at the Student Farm.  Fall Classes are starting this week, bringing us new students with new ideas.  The garden season is changing and we are planting cooler weather vegetables, so expect some changes in your boxes soon.  If you have any cooking ideas or observations let us know.  We love to hear from you.

A reader sent us a link to a good end of season tomato recipe.  Check it out sounds tasty and easy.
